Anniversary Day Today would have been our 28th wedding anniversary. I miss Marcia terribly. But I'm soldiering on, which she would have wanted. It's almost time to put seedlings in the ground (they're outside, but on trays), and I have a couple of fall-back garden centers if the seedlings fail. It's still a cold, rainy late spring, although much of next week is slated to be lacking in falling moisture, and warmer. We'll see what reality bring, when it arrives.

Finding My Way Eventually, I expect to find my way. A few different things are going on, but I appear to be mostly afflicted by a weird procrastination. Weird in the sense that since I don't really have a schedule or deadlines for anything, it's easy to put off things that I'm probably interested in getting done, but eh, mañana. Sadly, that has affected my lack of urgency for posting here, too. There are things I'm actually getting done, like finances, a trust and new will, etc. I'm not having difficulty with the day-to-day stuff of household chores, light maintenance,…

The Favorite Quilt I was "talking" with someone about what I'm hanging onto, the mementos of my life with Marcia that bring me joy and happy memories. This quilt is perhaps my favorite one that she made. The blocks that make up the image of the Japanese lady are individually embroidered in metallic and jewel tone threads. The "frame" is blue tone-on-tone embroidery. She assembled the blocks and then quilted it. It's four feet wide by five tall. Coffee Changes For the last several years, I've been brewing my home-roasted coffee in a Behmor Brazen - it is a neat brewer with a bunch of settings that make it come pretty close to emulating a good hand pour-over. It'll put a few ounces over the ground beans in the basket, then wait for a programmed amount of time for the grind to bloom. Once done, it releases 4 oz. at a time of hot water over the grind until the water's gone. It's worked fine for me over the years, although I'm on the second Brazen, as after…
